Personal matters
When it becomes personal it matters. Matters of hope, faith, trust, dreams, vision, goals and plans are personal. This means and helps you express one thing; your life matters to you and others matter in your life as long as there is respect for the values and boundaries that you have set. And yes, it is not about common grounds, lest you become lukewarm practising tolerance.
It is always easier to hear about compromising and giving in. But it is never about the compromise itself but what it is compromised. What is the stake? What is the risk? Is it like Esau, the birthright!? Can you exchange your identity for substance or sustenance? These days it is easier to hear simplified advice coming from different social, political, religious, and academic cycles.
But, when we give in to toxicity, common, the usual, it is difficult to see the beauty and wholeness of everything. But if we stand our ground and hold on to our beliefs and standards. Then we’ll get to experience life according to who and what we are aiming at in life. Even when society says otherwise. It requires wisdom, discernment, knowledge and understanding
📣
Taking things personally does not mean you are rigid to change or to accept others when the need be.
It means you are aware of who you are, IDENTITY.
And in the mid of people of every other kind, you are ready to stand your ground, LIVE and PERSEVERE.
This life is yours to live, it is your responsibility to bear and a journey to experience.
The LORD wants us to experience it better and glorious with Him. Time is limited here.
CHOOSE.
Personal Matters: Try picturing this:
Consider the realities of life, like an addict who is working his way to clean. You have started the journey and surely, like any battle back to yourself, who you were meant to be, challenging. Like a newborn-again Christian after a long journey outside the faith. You love God, but your heart and soul, although realising the love of Christ and grace and mercies, your body is embalmed in sin and it takes time to get your issues together. When you realise this with the help of the Spirit, learn the pattern and triggers, give yourself time but with determination, and come out, and sobber for a day, week, month, year, or decade.
I believe that is the one thing maybe ten that will not want to wake up one day and just give in. You have worked so hard to listen and in surrender obey the Holy Spirit, you have learnt better ways to run away from temptations and rebuke the tempter and things that trigger, with prayer and fasting you have seen the outcome, and you will live to protect your faith through faith. Focusing on Jesus.
Imagine this again
You have been in search of something for a long time and this one thing is personal, valueless and timeless. Healing. Peace. Health. Focus. Discipline. Relationships.
- How easily will you be ready to give it all away?
- Not so easily.
- Not without a fight.
When you grow in faith, you choose to learn about peace, joy and most of all faith and trust. Something like this, something costly, something hard-earned is something that ought to be protected, cherished and loved. Just like the saying easy come, easy go. As a lottery won out of nowhere, without a dream, plan or goal, misery is on the other side. But by working little by little; growing in purpose. Through working with determination and character. Whatever is planted is likely to be attained, grow and thrive be it a dream or goal.
And just like finding a pearl after long hours of diving, one that you can not value by every measure and grade out there, you would want to protect it with life. It’s not about the end product, it is much more about the journey, time and effort, strength and growth you needed and attained to become the person you are. And this person, trustworthy; trusting; faithful; joyful; peaceful and loving, became even more, of a believer.
Remember
I hope this reminder helps you see beyond the what-ifs and stand the ground on who you are and what is right now for that determines what is coming ahead and most of all, your life in general.
Remember, even when life doesn’t go the way we planned, hoped or wished, may we stay strong and clear-headed to see what’s passing and what’s coming to grow, what you’re sowing and what you’re making. Always evaluate what you are making, sowing at what cost, and price and see the types of fruits, and outcomes you get. Not the fruits of the Spirit, surrender, seek and choose God and His leadership.
Let your life be personal. Fruits of the Spirit, love, peace, joy, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness, kindness, forbearance (patience) and self-control. No one can find them for you, no one can offer them on a plate. The Holy Spirit got to work you, grow you and anchor you, to bear them. Choose surrender. Choose obedience. Go, grow. Become you, even better.
I wish us all strength and faith in it all.
Sincerely.
