Christian women like others have numerous opportunities in their communities, and they should take advantage of them. These opportunities can help them grow spiritually, socially, and even economically. Unfortunately, many women, especially Christians, fail to realize their potential because they miss these opportunities. Opportunities are chances or situations that offer potential for growth, development, and success. They come timely or seasonally, some recur (every day) some lifetime depending on the decision made.
One reason why Christian women should grab opportunities in their communities is that it can help them grow spiritually.
For instance, they can join Bible study groups, and prayer groups, and attend church functions. These activities can help them deepen their faith, develop their spiritual gifts, and strengthen their relationship with God. In Proverbs 31:30, the Bible says, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Another reason why Christian women should seize opportunities in their communities is that it can help them develop socially.
They can participate in community service projects, volunteer in charity organizations, and attend networking events. These activities can help them develop leadership skills, and communication skills, and create lasting relationships with other people. In Philippians 2:4, the Bible says, “Let each of you look not only to his interests but also to the interests of others.”
Communities also offer economic opportunities that Christian women can explore. They can
- explore academia and its many opportunities,
- start their businesses,
- join women’s business associations,
- attend entrepreneurship seminars,
- run for office and
- become the best of who they believe they can be and work hard to be so
These opportunities can help them create wealth, become financially independent, and contribute to the growth of their communities. Women being the best in who they are and in what they do is not a new thing. It has been here since the world began just that it changed, evolved and was affected by the change in culture, traditions and living styles.
Proverb 31 Woman
In Proverbs 31:16, the Bible says, “She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings, she plants a vineyard.”
This verse from Proverbs highlights the importance of taking calculated risks and investing in oneself. Here are some points to consider when thinking about this verse:
- The woman in this passage is being praised for her business acumen and ability to generate income through wise investments.
- By considering a field and buying it, she is taking a calculated risk and believing in her ability to make the investment profitable.
- Out of her earnings, she then reinvests in her business by planting a vineyard. This demonstrates the importance of not only generating income but also reinvesting it for long-term growth.
- This verse can be applied to many aspects of life, not just business. It can inspire individuals to take risks and invest in themselves, whether that be through education, personal projects, or other opportunities.
- It also emphasizes the value of hard work and earning one’s success. The woman in this passage did not inherit her wealth or rely on others to provide for her; she worked hard and made intelligent investments to generate her income.
- Finally, this verse can serve as a reminder of the power of women in business and the importance of supporting and empowering female entrepreneurs.
Whats hindering Women?
Despite the progress that society has made, many Christian women still struggle to realize their full potential in communities.
One of the main reasons for this is that women are often burdened with family responsibilities, such as raising children, taking care of the home, and supporting their husbands. As much as I could put this in better words still, there will always be two groups in this category. Those who have families and husbands and yet failed to be out there and those who succeeded or are working hard to prove that it is possible and both are right.
Another reason is that many women lack the confidence to pursue their dreams and goals. They may feel like they are not good enough or that they will be judged for their choices. In today’s world where choices and standing on those choices is everything, most of us have chosen and are content with what we do or who we are.
Living with titles, forgetting our dreams, ambitions and goals we once had and settled. It is not the end though, by the end of this journey I hope some of us take a break from everything and remember who we are and what that means for the Kingdom. Who does He say I am? That is a good starting point.
Lack of exposure has failed many of us to move with mostly time-bound opportunities. It is in travelling to new lands, meeting new people and experiencing new things we learn, mind opened and strengthened in the belief that, Aha, this can also be done, and I can do it better.
Women & Opportunities
However, the Bible teaches that women are capable of achieving great things. Proverbs 31:25 says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” This verse reminds women that they are strong and resilient and that they should not be afraid of what the future holds.
To overcome their fears and achieve their full potential, women need to believe in themselves and their abilities. They should seek out opportunities to grow and learn, whether that means taking on new challenges at work, volunteering in their community, or pursuing higher education.
Women should also remember to take care of themselves, both physically and emotionally. This means making time for self-care activities, such as exercise, meditation, and spending time with friends and family. In a sentence, work hard and strengthen all relationships. Women should never sacrifice friendship or family for other things like job, family, career or marriage.
Ultimately, Christian women should strive to live a life that is fulfilling and meaningful, both for themselves and for those around them. They should embrace their strengths and talents, and use them to make a positive impact in their communities and the world.
Where to find opportunities as the new year begins?
- Travel to a new land. Can you go to a new country? That’s better. But you know what’s best? Travelling to the next street, village, district, region. Travel like a tourist, with a new eye, and a new perception of things. I urge you to travel not to someone you know though you can travel together. Change environments even for 2 days.
- Meet new people and develop new relations. We live in communities where we are not close to everybody. It is good and healthy. But, when you find relations not impacting you positively, develop others. It is not expensive to meet people or develop long-term relationships.
- If you find people you’re comfortable around each other, invite them out for coffee. Of course, there will always be boundaries and moving those boundaries around even to close people ESPECIALLY when things do not work, will teach you a lot about people
- As you plan, envision or do the new year resolution, find only one reason that will make you go through whatever the goal you are planning to achieve. It can be good health, a small business, a higher degree, marriage, friendship, new job; find only one reason. Because in the end, as much as we plan, life has only one goal. The Crown and a Well Done Child.
- Find only one reason and grab that opportunity. Never think of what if I miss, THINK, will it build who I am, better and go for it.
In conclusion, Christian women have numerous opportunities in their communities that they should explore. These opportunities can help them grow spiritually, socially, and economically. They should not let their fears hold them back but rather seize these opportunities and realize their full potential. As 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.”
