How to Get Rooted in Him (Faith)

To the tree that saw the seasons and weather change, I want to learn from you.
The plants that experienced the most heated summers, and you who experienced the harshest storms of rain and snow, I want to learn from you.
To the trees that you are and chose to be what you are, trees, I want to learn from you.
To nature that has accepted change and yet has not changed, water flowing, oceans, filling, snow falling,
I want to know:
Was the summer heat as hot as it seemed?
Were the winters as cold as they look?
What about the winds and the rain?
Were they as they are
?

Springing Back in Faith

trees in a forest in spring
Spring by Brett Sayles

Spring was here, the trees had leaves, and the greenery of the land was so beautiful and magical. From the deepest parts of the melting snow, brushed by the warms of the new sun, you rose from the grounds and sprang back. And just like the season, you survived the snow, you survived the cold, you stood the melting and came back. To Life. The air was cold but fresh with all the birds beginning to come out of their nests and singing in the morning. It was then, I realised that change is a process, that calmly and slowly passes in silence.

Heated and Rooted

Summer came, and the sun shone brightly for long hours; waking everyone early and letting them sleep so late. But, it was beautiful. The heat on some days was so strong and high, making one wonder if that was it. But it was in the focus, the perspective, where the difference was. The flowers on trees and some, going with the change of winter and spring, had already become fruits. And there was just life in nature that was always noticeable. But only to those who stood still, observed and learned – being.

Autumn Winds Wonders

Autumn. It was not like I just woke up and noticed you. You were there. You were within spring, within, summer and then there you were. Cooling the air to one we could enjoy walking around in nature and playing in the fallen grass. Beautiful. You slowly worked and made, and changed every green-coloured leaf. Of this tree to brown, others to orange, yellow, red and every other colour, the tree was meant to. You just chose to make Earth beautiful wherever you were.

Then you shook all of them down on earth with strong winds, making all earth know you are coming to an end. Making earth know that a new season is coming and only the green strong leaves will be going into the winter. The transition to you and winter, the cooling of the air, the condensing of the clouds, the pouring of the rain. And then like that, you gave way and winter was here in all its coldness, and beauty. The transition was just quiet and smooth just like a miracle.

Gloomy yet Snowy Magical Winters

Oh! Winter. A wonder. What could I liken you to? Like a stream. Flowing quietly between the rocks or a valley. You just fall at night. Audrey says, But You came like winter snow, Quiet and soft and slow, Falling from the sky in the night, To the Earth below (Winter Snow~ Chris Tomlin). That was how came. You could not be noticed. You just kept on falling covering the earth. And when the earth woke up in the early hours of the day, you were already there.

So, to the tree that survived it all, how do you do it? Is it easy? Being at the same place all this time and just being. How is it for you when the sun, rain, winds and snow change with the seasons? And how do you just accept change? Can I also just accept it when it is harsh and that it is for my good? Can I? You were spoken into life before I was made. Can you say something?

Get Rooted Firmly

  • Get rooted. Get rooted firmly, freely, and deeper. The trees replied. To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heavens (Ecclesiastes 3).
  • From there, there is assurance that you will always stand strong; be supplied with all that you need and are most likely or rather, to bear fruits, good fruits according to your seed.
  • From there, you will stand strong against anything that you think works against you and realise it is for your good
  • From there, you will realise; you don’t lose anything when shading leaves, you just let seasons and weather change prepare you. So, just let the seasons prepare you for what is coming ahead of you and in being so, in being still, let Life Himself be praised for the revelations, supply and lessons you live in each day.
  • Remember, each season has something to offer. Beautiful landscape in winter; adding colours on the snowy earth; flowers, fresh air, for the spring; pollen~traveling to far lands shades, tasty fruits in hot sunny summer days; fruits, beautiful earth and forests (landscapes) in autumn.

Final Word on Getting Rooted Firmly in Faith

And in the end, it is for the glory of the one who created it all, who provided us life and strength in each season while supplying us with the provisions to bear good fruits for each season.

So, get rooted not away, but deep in faith. Deep in faith in Him who made it all be. Deep in the LIFE flowing within, through, around you.

To the tree that survived it all, I hear you well.
