There will always be a single outcome to anything a person does and as a result intended is obtained, everything falls back to one question: For whose glory? For whose glory are you trying to achieve what you want? Whose name do you want to be glorified through your healthy good and body firm? For whose glory do you buy this dress to wear to this party? For whose glory do you even wish to go to such and such party? Who is glorified through the dreams that you have? For whose glory do you live? For whose glory do you even wish to know all these?
It is common to find us all many times brushing over the whys to what we do to things like dah… I just want to look lit… got my eyes lashed, my makeup fixed and my dress pressed…. a nice working body… a high-income job….a promising company….but for what or who?? That is the only important question to consider and focus on when planning, thinking, fasting, obeying, wishing, praying and doing anything you want to do. And with that question as a sole and foundation layer in the lives we live, we are to live a life one of free will and one with care, love and freedom knowing that; not only do we live it, but we are surely responsible for the outcome we get from our actions and choices.
Why should you focus on the Glory?
Whether personally the goal is looking good, looking ‘lit‘, healthy and strong, fit or just having better lives, disciplined life, focusing on something like glory gives a better meaning and reason to keep pushing when things get tough. It is like walking the walk, being on a journey being a part of a greater picture and having a community that focuses on the glory of God, thus somewhere you can tap from and pour into at the same time.
Focusing on God as you begin your health journey, as you start your business or even a new relationship; or when it’s a new chapter of life like school, becoming a mother or father; anything grand like a new day, the first breath of the day waking up. It makes so much sense. Life makes so much sense when you know and choose to believe that there is more to everything. Not to complicate life but to appreciate how everything we go through, a lesson, an assignment, a heartbreak, a victory and a smile all are purposed for goodness.
Why choose to smile when things are rough? Also, why would you choose to help someone in the streets while you don’t even know where you will sleep tonight? Why buy someone food with the last cent from your pocket? Or even help someone cross the road when you have a busy day and life is just hectic? BECAUSE you choose to believe that you are here and are a part of LIFE and someone who can share goodness with someone you meet, right now.
Whose Glory?
The Lord’s Glory. To whom can we focus our attention? From whom can we tap from? To whom can we pour when we are open to being vessels? God, LIFE Himself. See, the glory is only the LORD and no one can share it. He is God, the Lord, the Maker of everything we see and do not see. He has spoken creation to life and the power of LIFE and DEATH are in His hands. All-powerful One. All-knowing. All present. He is a super God and He is a FATHER.
Often, life pushes us to seek His power and experience miracles (which are awesome and good, praise God). But let us seek to experience His love and attention and care and presence in everything we do. I believe we all want that. Personally, I would love to experience the beauty, peace, calmness and love in His glorious presence in everything I do and every step I take. I love it when my dad calls or sends me airtime. I love it when my dad sends me messages and different messages about life, faith and family. Also, I love calling my father and asking for anything I am not so sure of about life and choices.
Loving it When…!
But I love it more when I am close to my dad talking. Making stories and reminding ourselves of God. How beautiful, gracious, merciful, good and faithful God has been to us and the family all these years. We have seen God doing miracles, making ways and favouring in ways beyond our imaginations. So, doing this, praising Him we could talk and talk and talk for many hours and this usually uplifts my soul and heals and like a family fellowship, reminding each other to continue trusting and believing in Him. As one who is always here for us.
I believe it is more with God. Having time together talking about how the day went. How good He was in the day. Knowing that He was just there making things work in the busyness of the day. Also, appreciating Him and His love and warm wraps when it was cold. I would love to have a moment of surrender, a conversation and fellowship with Him. And this is when the question of whose glory becomes a lifestyle. Because you have only One being to ask, you have only one to focus on, God.
Final Word!
As much as you allow living to push you left and right, I urge you to take control of your choices and decisions. Because it is in decisions and choices where actions are birthed. We choose to believe in God. We choose to have fellowship with Him. We decide to fellowship with those who believe in Him as we do and strengthen each other in faith, love and hope. Not only for what is but also for what is to come.
Remember this, When you narrow down the importance, concerns and focus of your actions and choices to God’s glory, you simplify life, have peace and strengthen your faith knowing He is the Life, the life in you, the essence and your being. Just as in His Word, Psalm 23:3, Psalm 25:11, Psalm 31:3, Joshua 7:9, Ezekiel 20:44, Ezekiel 39:25. He guides, forgives, leads, deals with me, restores, has compassion, is zealous, does everything, EVERYTHING, for and from WHO He is.
In faith, fashion, food, agriculture, people, devotion, consumption, hand-work, beauty and health; choose to experience the Father’s love and presence. To see His glory, beauty and goodness in it all.
And for and from this, LOVE, lets us choose glory, God’s glory, as an everlasting gift, result and outcome of everything we think, do and speak.
