Societies need better men and women to be better!

Well wondering what the heading says!? Keep on! But that’s the very thing that all countries need to accept to find better solutions in most matters going on in this world. Societies need better men to be better because most women choose to go with the flow.

Better societies are made with better men and sustained by women

Well, I hear daily about gender equality issues as it goes on globally. It is good that women are coming up for air demanding equal treatment in societies. That is proof that only change is here to stay. But there are things that people forget as they act as the basis for gender equality. And this is in every international ground fighting for equality.

Far Countries, Better Societies for Men and Women

I once got to live in Sweden the only country where gender equality is not preached as gender being the base but equality. If all people are treated equally matters of gender might not be brought into the discussion. A country where women are allowed to access the same opportunities as men. But they still have the thing called ‘jobs for women and jobs for men’. This should remind us at the end of the unfinished gender equality war there will be another fight. And physical abilities can be the main cause. Job differentiation and gender roles should not be left out for reasoning although the Swedish Model is not the problem.

I think men are the centre of communities’ changes and they act as the catalyst of change although most change is carried and brought by women. Just like how men carry sperm and women’s eggs and the woman rear and bring the baby into the world same as every little change brought in society. Men are the heads of families leaving the breadwinning roles that either men or women can be in today’s world.

Think of it this way, the cultural and social pillars are the ones that determine all changes in societies. And in most developing countries or let’s face it, most countries’ systems are patriarchal and thus men are the centre of change and ownership and leadership making change their one thing to push for if they choose to.

Better Truth

Let me say one thing, well if men didn’t require services focusing on sex and bodily pleasures, the prostitution business wouldn’t be going strong. Also, everything that focuses on the enticement of the men’s eyes. The shift of the men’s focus on culture and development, as the major players have led to a need for a change. The focus on how women operate in societies and even at the family level is analyzed from men’s actions.

So, while everyone is pushing for equality, the general society’s focus from the room level to the national level should also shift and the line should be specified in work and change.

Is it possible? Yes. While most countries focus on the media display of how gender equality should look like (most western societies do this), some quiet societies have been able to achieve this and are trying their best to sustain this. I will speak of Sweden because I have been there once. The practicality of matters is different and so is the conclusion of this matter.

No matter how noisy the gender equality fight seems and is being displayed in the media, the reality is so much different, and it is in quite a silent fight where change is achieved. It is not in the noisy media done every year during March, in the name of Women’s Day (while it might be a good strategy -incorporated with others), it is what is done during the 364 days that bring change.

A word from the bottom of hearts

Am I bitter!?

Oh yes!

Why can’t I?

Feels like I’m sold empty promises with every elevated pitch and internationally focused ‘celebrated’ day. And whether it be international women’s,  men’s, children’s day…. Is the celebrated effort enough? Does the media coverage correspond to what’s said?

I wish us all a happy last day of the women’s month and let the fight continue.

Sincerely.
